Professional track and other advance training:
I am happy to meet students for a one-time or occasional lesson, where I can provide some insight and a different perspective. Or maybe just reinforce what your regular teacher has been saying, and it will help to hear it in a slightly different way! We can also discuss continuing lessons on a regular schedule, if I have availability and it feels like a good fit.
More about me and my approach to playing and learning
I draw from a wide range of experiences and perspectives. By superimposing ideas from many different approaches, I like to discover where they all agree and align, creating a more multi-dimensional understanding of each problem we solve while learning to play the violin.
60-Minute Private Lesson
$80
Older students and more advanced students, plus those with long attention spans get the most out of a full hour lesson. You may bring a friend and do a joint or split lesson.
45-Minute Private Lesson
$65
45 min is good for younger learners. (Weekly 30 min lessons will be $50 each and enrollment can begin after you meet me through the Beginner’s Quartet!)
Possible upcoming classes
While private lessons are essential for serious students, I am also interested in creating group classes that help students connect, collaborate and work with others in a supportive environment. My many years of summer violin camps are where I learned the most, and especially with kids current reliance on technology, group learning environments are more important than ever.
Group classes also help students get to know themselves as performers. They can learn how to work with varying levels of stage-fright, which most of us have! As they become more familiar with playing for others, nervous energy becomes a tool that can enhance their performance and focus, allowing them to go above and beyond what they can do alone in a practice room.
Please tell me more about you, using this form, or fill it out below!

Based on interest
Bring your own chamber music partners, or I can match you up with others at a similar level. Meeting frequency based on your availability and your performance goals as a group.

Experiment and release inhibitions, no matter what your level. Improvising can help you develop a sense of musicality which makes learning pieces much easier. All levels, groups will be arranged by level when possible. We will also discuss recording and working with music production software if there is interest.
